What is Gender in 2022?

Who the heck knows anymore? In the spirit of being different, folks who live in this bubble have decided what they want to be, and it's too much. In 2022, folks are remixing a song or making a previously seen movie to fit the needs of those seeking the ability to be different. A colleague of mine believes that White folks are tired of cultural appropriation and seeking new ways to be different, and other races are adopting the majority culture beliefs, which ain't too far-fetched according to our Khalil Muhammed.

Gender defined is "either of the two sexes (male and female), especially when considering social and cultural differences rather than biological ones." The definition adds that "the term is also used more broadly to denote a range of identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female (Oxford, n.d.). The World Health Organization (WHO) explains that gender refers to the characteristics of women, men, girls, and boys that are socially constructed. This includes norms, behaviors, and roles associated with being a woman, man, girl, or boy, and relationships with each other. As a social construct, gender varies from society to society and can change over time. Biological a woman and man can produce a child through natural means. Thus, male and female due to the reproductive organs associated with the label.

I agree with WHO in that we must be careful in the rigidity of applying norms associated with gender. Being ascribed a gender doesn't mean one must act as the norm or stereotype. However, 2022 is a bit much. This doesn't mean gender is not male and female. These folks out here trying to cloud and change the definition when people simply need to acknowledge that not all women are the same and the same for me. But, trying to argue that there is no such thing as gender when gender indicates the biological functions of an individual is silly. It is downright irresponsible. What example are we setting for the future?

I love the expression that we see nowadays, but it's like any other new creation, fad, or process. There are unitended consequences or escalation. Some of this is excessive, but I'm an old fogie now. I'm not used to seeing men in 4-inch heels I can't wear, dresses, and push-up bras. We expect men to mentor men, but how do older men mentor these kids? I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm saying it's much to comprehend, so folks have to be patient. I recently saw a young lady with the best fade I have ever seen with something in her pants indicating maleness. WTH? Is it more that some of these folks are unsatisfied with the gender assigned and want to switch like it's a pair of new kicks? It makes the argument then that folks would challenge the status quo or what we define as gender to support their cause not understanding that gender relates to biology.

I'm all for supporting folks, but gender is used to understand the biological nature of individuals. There are specific functions that come with being male or female. It's fine to decide not to be considered female, but each month you will be reminded unless you in menopause, which is a whole different level of nonsense. You can say you're not male all day, but you better be getting that prostate exam in 2022. This is not an argument against the LGBTQA++ society. Folks so sensitive now that they don't listen to dissenting opinions and like to clump everythang together. This is solely about gender and maintaining its meaning. All males and females are not the same. That much is clear. There is no need to muddy the water because you "feel" that you don't fit.
